Biobanking: A vital source for biomedical research
About this Event

We invite you to join us for our next ACMD Link event to find out how SVI Biobank can help progress your work in cancer research, diabetes, hepatitis and other diseases. The Biobank has over 47,000 specimens from more than 1,500 participants.

Established in 2015, the SVI Biobank is a storage resource and repository for research groups, clinical trials and others requiring contract storage of biological samples. The Biobank is managed by and housed at NRL’s primary laboratory facility on the St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne (SVHM) campus. Currently, the facility supports 10 different studies – five clinical trials (three multi-site, including interstate), three investigator-initiated studies, and contributes as the SVHM node to two external registry collections. The Biobank is progressing towards accreditation to ISO 20387, General Requirements for Biobanking.

At this ACMD Link event, you will learn more about the Biobank and services, and hear from two researchers who currently use the facility.
